Before you put your house on the market, let's get your home ready.

* Its all about curb appeal. Properly mowed, edged and fertilized lawns are inviting.

* Trim hedges and spruce up flowerbeds with fresh mulch and colorful plants.

* Power-wash the driveway, walkways and exterior.

* Clean all debris and leaves from gutters.

* Remove oil stains from the garage floor and repaint if necessary. 

* Let the sunlight in. Wash the windows inside and out.

* Hire a cleaning service to clean the interior, including ceiling fans, kitchen cabinets and fingerprint areas.

* Paint the walls and ceilings off white or natural color.

* Repair nail holes and damage to sheetrock before painting.

* Replace windows that have lost their seals or have broken glass.

* Replace old faucets and showerheads with similar styles and color.

* Clean tile floors, especially grout lines and shampoo or replace carpets if necessary.

* Replace front entrance screen doors and front door hardware.

* Vacuum out all sliding door and window tracks.

* Replace burned-out light bulbs with same bulb type and preferably brighter light bulbs.

* Replace broken handrails, wood deck boards and repaint or stain.

* Clean all appliances or replace with new if necessary..

* Update old toilet seats and replace caulking in toilet and bath areas..

* Remove scuff marks on baseboards and doors.

* Wash all light switches and replace broken plates.
